Social Responsibility – Das macht Sinn

Sunrise is known more being a dominant figure in the Swiss Telecommunications Business. In recent months, Sunrise has rewritten the rule book in its industry by implementing new product such as Sunrise Freedom and Sunrise Home. Under the guide of CEO Libor Voncina, Sunrise has moved from a hard selling culture to a more modern, customer orientated company. This change of heart has been received well by critics and customers alike. So what is next for a company that wants to impress their customers with a great customer experience? More customer orientated shops? Maybe! Better products? Already in progress! Social responsibility? Why not!

nelson-mandela-educationOn the 18th of July the world celebrated national Nelson Mandela Day. The Sunrise Team of Züri Lake participated in this special day by giving to those who are less fortunate than themselves. Headed by Ralf Aring, Store Manager Bahnhofplatz, this incredible team decided to raise money for JAM Schweiz, A Swiss Charity organization dedicated in improving the lives of people (mostly children) in Africa. By sending over teams of volunteers, JAM Schweiz uses all the resources it raises to build infrastructure where poor communities can benefit from simple basic human rights. For example, they regularly send volunteers down to South Africa to newly build or renovate schools.

AboardSo how did Sunrise do this? Very simple.  By creating a “Giving Culture” within all 11 stores in and around Zürich. JAM provided them with their Trade Make Red Collection Bowls to put on each of the 41 Desks in store. Sunrise Limmatquai showed video footage of JAM & Nelson Mandela on the big screen, in Store (this  store is an old cinema house in the heart of Zürich) The 70+ Store Managers & Agents actively asked customers to donate to this great cause. The result was magical. Within the one day on the 18th July, Sunrise raised over CHF550.- for JAM. Feedback from customers and employees was alike: “We want to see more of this from Sunrise” & “It is nice to see them giving instead of taking”.

Corporate responsibly is a hot topic at the moment as Companies try to differentiate from each other. In addition, creating a positive customer experience should be every company’s focus. These two components of business should also go “Hand-in-Hand” to create the ultimate Customer Experience.

That make sense/Das macht Sinn!
